Handling a heated moment with Autism, ADHD, PDA and Alexithymia
By Neurospicy Poems

ADHD rushes in first.
She doesn’t mean to—
she just says it
before it’s thought through.
Words spill.
And chaos unfolds.
Autism freezes.
She doesn’t like this.
Too loud.
Too unpredictable.
She goes quiet because she can’t keep up.
Alexithymia shrugs.
She doesn’t know what’s happening.
Her feelings are locked in a box,
and no one can find the key.
PDA hears the accusation
and reaches for her fiery sword.
She doesn’t like being pushed.
She hates being controlled.
You want a fight?
She smirks.
Fine.
She knows how to hurt with precision.
She escalates out of defence.
To make sure you don’t get the last word.
It’s an interesting mix of
conflict resolution styles—
all packed within one body.
One withdraws,
one lashes out,
one disconnects,
one doesn’t stop talking.
They are not singing from the same hymn sheet.
They are all whistling to their own tune.

Author's Note:
Conflict doesn’t just happen between people; it happens within me. This poem captures what it feels like when Autism, ADHD, PDA, and Alexithymia all try to “help” during a heated moment. Each voice brings its own instinct: freeze, blurt, attack, or emotionally disengage. They aren’t coordinated. They don’t consult one another. They react, each in their own language, at their own pace.
This piece is part of my Neurodivergent Inner Voice Framework™, where different aspects of my neurodivergence manifest as internal characters with distinct reactions, values, and fears. Sometimes they work together. But in moments like this? It’s a full-on internal argument about how to survive the same experience.
True Self sees the intention behind every reaction, even the messy ones. With her steady presence, we may find clarity instead of chaos. —— Copyright and Usage Notice
